Quick answer
For the Zippered Romper in Retro Rainbow, choose your baby's current size for a snug fit or size up for room to grow, and always wash inside out in cold water to protect the print.
Why bamboo rompers need a different care approach
Rayon made from bamboo is soft and breathable, but it can be sensitive to heat and harsh detergents. High temperatures and aggressive washing can cause the fabric to shrink or fade, especially on printed styles like Retro Rainbow. Treat your romper more like a delicate than a everyday cotton piece.
How the dual zipper affects fit and sizing
The dual zipper design means you can open the romper from top or bottom, which helps with changes without fully undressing your baby. Because the fabric is stretchy, the same size can fit snugly on a smaller baby or more loosely on a larger one. If your baby is between sizes, consider how you want the romper to look: snug for layering under sleep bags, or roomier for standalone wear.
Retro Rainbow Romper FAQ
- How should I choose the right size?
- Use your baby's current weight and height as a guide, but remember the fabric is stretchy. For a snug fit that works well under sleep bags, pick the size that matches now. For room to grow, size up. If your baby is long in the torso, you may prefer to size up for extra length.
- Will the Retro Rainbow print fade over time?
- With proper care, the print should stay vibrant. Wash the romper inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, and avoid using bleach or fabric softeners. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. High heat is the main enemy of print longevity. Always turn the romper inside out before washing to minimize abrasion on the print.
- Can I put the romper in the dryer?
- Yes, but use low heat. High heat can cause shrinkage and accelerate fading. For best results, remove the romper promptly when the cycle ends and smooth it out. If you want to preserve the fabric and print for as long as possible, air drying is the gentlest option.
- What should I do if the romper shrinks?
- Some shrinkage can happen with rayon made from bamboo, especially if washed in hot water or dried on high heat. To minimize it, always follow the cold wash and low dry instructions. If the romper has shrunk slightly, a gentle stretch while damp can help restore some shape.
- Is the Retro Rainbow print suitable for sensitive skin?
- The romper is made from rayon made from bamboo, which is gentle on sensitive skin. However, every baby is different. If your baby has very reactive skin, wash the romper before first wear to remove any manufacturing residues, and use a fragrance-free detergent.
- How does the dual zipper work for changes?
- The dual zipper allows you to open the romper from the top, bottom, or both. For diaper changes, you can unzip just the bottom portion, keeping your baby's upper body covered and warm. This is especially handy during nighttime changes.
